Attention Theater Majors: Two Scholarships Available

The Little Theatre of Virginia Beach (LTVB) is offering two $1,000.00 scholarships for local high school seniors graduating in the Class of 2026 who plan to major in theatre. One scholarship will be awarded for technical studies and one for performing arts. These scholarships are also available to students planning to teach Theater Arts who must major in Education, but will earn a minor in Performing Arts to obtain state licensure.

Students graduating from a South Hampton Roads high school who plan to attend an undergraduate school majoring in theater either in performance or in technical theatre—are eligible to apply for this scholarship! These one-time scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to two deserving students.

TO APPLY: Please submit the following application in full including;

o An essay* explaining why you think you should receive this scholarship.
o Indicate your prior theatre experience (especially if at LTVB).
o Explain why you are interested in pursuing theater as a major.
o Please include any voluntary community service you have done.
o And, a copy of your grade transcript.

* The essay should be no more than three pages and is an important part of the process. Essays should highlight achievements, involvement or personal philosophy that will help us best evaluate your qualifications.

Applications must be received by May 22, 2026.

All applicants will be notified of final selections via email by the end of June.
